heard a little. dolly's part was hey baby i need ya,ect. couldn't stand her part. just wanted to puke. can't stand her anyway. she should stop tryin' to be 20 again & worry about doin' good music. george's part was good but alan's remake kicked more ass. plus on the others i heard george sure shows his age. especially on too cold at home(an average remake). still love him,but certainly ain't as good as he once was.

I can't stand the Possum, but I do like Dolly so I'll have to see if I like the Remake. Are they playing it on the radio or TV yet?

George Jones is my 2nd favorite artist next to Hank and I will be buying that Cd very shortly. I am sure George will do a great rendition of the song that Hank orignally did.

Can't stand the Possum? That's almost unamerican. Definitly uncountry. And probably unHank. ;insane

I have had this conversation before with several people on this site, and like I said before I don't like No Show Jones music. Waaay too slow and sad for me. I don't mind that type of stuff occasionally but gimme a break. I have never understood why anyone would want to listen to that whining morbid shit. I mean If you are feeling good, it will only bring you down, and if you're feeling bad it could make you wanna commit suicide. Gimme some rockin' up tempo Bocephus, it makes you feel good about yourself and makes you wanna have a good time, not cry in your beer.
P.S. I know No Show has had a few up tempo songs such as, "White Lightning" and "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair" and I have nothing against the people that like him, maybe they see something in his music that I just don't.

to answer why would any one listen to him. cause he's real stone country & the most countryfied singer alive(he kicks ass). must not like hwsr. than either. sounds like you're more into southern rock than true blue country.but like i told ya before nothing with not liking him, each to their own.

This Video is now availible to watch on CMT, I really like Dolly in it. It is a pretty good rendition of the song, but no where near as good as Hank's original version.

I don't keep up with what's going on in so called country today so i wasn't aware of this dolly/jones deal, would like to see it as i like them both.
If you don't 'get' george jones it only mean's you have not lived a hard life, drinking, women, etc. Nothing wrong with not liking him, but I think we tend to listen to people who have walked a mile in our shoe's or vice versa so to speak, why alot of us love Hank Jr. so much, he's told our storie's to the world. Jones has too.

Its fine that yall like him but I don't, I would just like to say that Bocephus has lived one hell of a hard life as well, and you don't hear him crying in beer all the time. I know he has had some sad songs, but for the most part Hank is an uplifting guy, a party guy. As THE MAN himself says "I am into happy and I don't like sad."

I stand up and applaud that statement.....there are many days when nothing can bring me "UP" except for listening to a song that sounds like it was written about me...then I feel like I'm not the only one who is going through a hard time!

You get 'it' then two rider's, haha. I always said Hank Sr. wrote the sound track to my life, haha. Afraid i've lived out too many of those old song's.

RRF2 and HITRN50 I totally Disagree with you both. You are Crazy George Jones is one of the Greatest Country Music Singers of All Time Hands Down. You both really must not like Country Music that much if you don't like George Jones. I mean he is a Legend. You too must be more into Rock I suppose which is Great but you 2 must not like Country to much to diss George like you did.

obviously that's only one you've ever heard. btw though bocephus is my fav. nobody does true hard core country better than hwsr.,haggard,or jones. hank's specialties are rowdy honky-tonk,southern rock, & blues.

George has countless hits including He Stopped Loving Her Today, Choices, 50,000 Names, White Lightning, I'm a one Woman Man,BeerRun, The Grand Tour, A Picture of me Without You, Rockin' Chair, Bartender's Blues, Why Baby Why , and also some with Tammy like, Take Me, Near You, One, and countless others. George Jones is Country and Country only which some look as a good thing and some look as a bad thing. Me personally after Hank there is no one better than George. But Hank Jr. is truely #1 followed by George Jones. Thats just my oppinion and I'm sticking to it. If you've never really listened to George try buying the 50 Years of Hits album it is Great and has ALL George's hits on there if after listening to that your still not a fan then I guess you don't like him but I think that album would turn alot of you into fans quickly :D
