I am not really a hunter, so this may be a stupid thing to say. But, I have never seen a deer with so many spots. Is that normal? It looks like his daddy slept around with a dalmation.

That's an axis deer, a bit different than the whitetail variety you'll see in Mississippi, Alabama, or just about anywhere else here in the Southeast. They're natives of India, introduced in Texas in the 30's according to one thing I read; they're also known as India spotted deer, or something along those lines.

 Hi, I guess you were already answered. Everything he said is true we live in Texas and have alot here. The nice thing about them is you don't have to have a tag for them like whitetail.
We can kill them year around. They have very tender meat! We like to have steaks made out of them. There meat is much better than whitetail for steaks.
They are very pretty deer!
Hope everyone enjoys the pix. We got it on the deer cam that we set up. I will see if I have anymore.

P.S. Here are some whitetail deer and some turkey

:D Hi, I love nature and you can see so much if you just get out. I will keep putting pix up so everyone can see them. Hope everyone likes.

P.S. This is a pix of a whitetail that we got from our deer cam it is pretty nice. The one cool thing about the axis deer is that they bark like a dog in a way if you have ever heard them you know what it is.
