Seriously, now. Without looking it up, does anybody really remember what "XLIV" stand for? :? Isn't it time to ditch the roman numerals, as if we are pretending this is a gladiator match in ancient Rome?! I studied roman numerals just long enough to pass a test in elementary school, and I've never looked back since.
So, I'll save you the trouble..... It happens to be Super Bowl 44 (thanks to Google).

Those Roman numerals should have fallen with the Roman Empire. We don't need 'em.

BTW, check out "The Who" playing at a news conference in Miami. Should be a good show!

XLIV means 44. The "L" means 50. The X before the L means 10 before 50 or 40;veryconfused. The I before the V means one before 5 or 4;veryconfused. therefore 44;jack.
Lets dump these Roman numbers. It's really Lame.
