We couldn't even watch it on TV, because CMT is out of order on our cable system. Oh, well. I heard he blamed it all on George Bush anyway, so maybe it's best that I didn't watch.

I listened to a little bit of it on the radio, but yeah, Jimmy went on a tirade against the W recently.

He's an American, he has a right to express his opinion (an opinion which has also expressed support for one Fidel Castro before, if my memory serves me correctly, so Mr. Buffet probably ain't exactly predisposed to not blame Bush for something). However, when you have something like that, I don't really think it adds anything to be blasting Bush (or even Obama, for that matter)...not at what is supposedly a benefit concert for the Gulf Coast.

I watched it and loved it. Always been a big fan of Buffet's songs. Wish I could have been there. I've grown to love that place the last couple years.

I used to big a BIG Buffett fan! Shows every year, sometimes twice!

But, his politics, the repededness and Amy not really into the shows, my interest has faded. But, his songs are truly great and his love for the South and the Gulf Region is hard to ignore. Seeing the special reminded of that. I guess, "we're gonna agree to disagree" on the politics and just light up and move along!

Oh, I agree. To many people relegate Buffett to just "the guy who sings Margaritaville." But he's a lot more than that...just like Bocephus is more than "the guy that sings the Monday Night Football Intro." My personal favorites from Buffett are A Pirate Looks at 40 and The Ballad of Spider John...killer tunes, both. Nah, I don't agree with his politics, but, like James Taylor or Jackson Browne, I can't deny the music.

I try to go to a Buffett concert every other year. He changes up the songs from show to show and the tailgating is the best. When you go to a concert don't expect to hear much political talk. I have been to probably 5 to 6 shows maybe and have heard many of them live via cd and he hardly talks politics at all. The last one I went to in 09 he never metioned politics at all. He is a lib, but if he doesn't shove it down our throats in a concert I don't have a problem with him. When he does interviews etc... yes he does talk politics, but normally not on stage.

To me Jimmy and Hank are two of the best entertainers.

yeah that kinda shit ruins alot of good music for me, when people don't agree with me! But like Boogie said it's still some good music and it was to help our coast
